I wish to nominate Bonnie and Ian McLennan of north Queensland "Hidden Valley Cabins". Please see their website at http://www.hiddenvalleycabins.com.au/ for more information on their wonderful rural resort. They have recently converted to 100% solar power and are not on the commercial electricity supply grid. I have been at this resort, and found it to be comfortable, pleasant, and rewarding to see such an effort at sustainable living.

Just wanted to thank you for a great stay. We came to Australia from the UK to visit our friends Eileen and Ian in Townsville who thought that a visit to Hidden Valley would be a great Aussie experience. We stayed one night and booked the tour of Running River Gorge and the Platypus tour and we had the pleasure of being shown all of this by Ross (a great tour guide by the way). This was a fantastic experience and yes we did see the Platypus, excellent! We would defenitely suggest a trip a Hidden Valley as the accommodation is clean and the food was lovely and best of all it's all eco friendly with plenty of wildlife to boot - who could ask for anything more. Thank you to everyone who made our stay a pleasant one.

What a wonderful website....I am soooo excited about booking a 3 day getaway...My fiance and i have been apart for over a year. Life has handed us many obstacles lately and this sounds like the perfect way to enjoy our precious time together. A group of us Townville State High students went to Hidden Valley for a field trip for Geography, it was so quiet, peaceful and relaxing. It is definitly going to be a place where I want to go with my mates for an Origin decider!!

We had an absolutely fabulous time staying with you at HIDDEN VALLEY. Your facilities are fabulous (and so clean, to walk in to a room and smell fresh laundered linen is delightful - especially in the middle of the bush!) and we just loved your location - so peaceful, well worth the drive (we came back via Mt. Fox, great drive, loads of skippies!). We really hope to have the chance to visit you again in the future and would definitely stay longer. In the meanwhile we will be singing your praises to locals and visitors alike and will encourage them to take 'the road less traveled' and have a real Aussie adventure.

To Ian and Bonny, Thank you for the lovely home-cooked meals and very comfortable accommodation; it was a very peaceful 3 days rest from the camping. I really enjoyed the log cabin set in bushland and landscaped gardens with beautiful native birds. I arrived home at 6pm after visiting Paluma Dam and more bird watching in Paluma. I lived in Townsville from 1980 to 1987 and hidden valley was a fav place and back then the only beer was served on ice.Have been back in Melb a long time but would love to return and have a few cold ones on ice if that is how the pub is still run. Regards Steve Morley

This place is so relaxing.With the natural beauty of the cabins and the surronding areas.Plenty of places to walk and enjoy the quiet and listen to nature.The use of local timber in the buildings and furniture was interesting in itself.The games room kept us busy.We will be back!THANKS Ian and Bonnie.
